Eigen Innovations has closed $2.6 million in new equity financing, adding fuel to the Fredericton company's push to put AI-powered inspection on more factory lines.
The round
The raise includes backing from TLT East Ventures, a new Atlantic Canadian venture fund, joining an investor base that features Momenta Ventures, BDC Capital, and the New Brunswick Innovation Foundation. By PitchBook's count, the company's total funding now sits around $14.6 million — patient, staged capital rather than a single splashy round, which matches the company's market.
What Eigen does
Founded in 2012 by Scott Everett out of UNB engineering research, Eigen combines machine vision — notably thermal imaging — with process data to catch manufacturing defects in-line and trace them back to their process causes. Welds, plastic joins, and coated surfaces that look fine to a camera can hide flaws that show up as heat signatures; Eigen's systems see them at production speed, before bad parts ship.
Automotive and industrial-products manufacturers are core customers, and an Intel partner listing signals the kind of ecosystem positioning that matters when selling into global plants.
The context
Industrial AI is having its procurement moment: quality and traceability budgets that once bought end-of-line spot checks are shifting to continuous inspection. Eigen has spent a decade building for exactly this demand — the slow-then-sudden trajectory that defines Fredericton's industrial-tech bench.
