Planet Hatch Opens a Media Creation Room for Startups to Record, Film and Stream

Fredericton startup hub Planet Hatch has opened a Media Creation Room — a professional studio with podcast gear, lighting, a teleprompter and an editing workstation — with 50% off for members and 30% off for non-members through October 31.

A podcast microphone close-up cuts to a wide studio as an amber REC dot travels to a glowing ON AIR sign, sound rings ripple and lights pop, with a readout showing 50% off for members and 30% off for guests through Oct 31.

Planet Hatch has opened a professional content studio. The Fredericton startup hub's Media Creation Room gives entrepreneurs, creators and startups a ready-to-use space for podcast recording, product videos, social content and virtual presentations — walking in to record rather than buying the gear. The launch comes with an introductory offer: 50% off for members and 30% off for non-members, running through October 31.

The studio

The room is a fully equipped, ready-to-book studio: professional lighting, a teleprompter, podcast recording equipment, multiple backdrop options and an editing workstation with editing software. The hub lists podcast recording, social media content, product videos, educational courses, virtual presentations, founder updates, client testimonials and interviews among the intended uses, at hourly and daily rates ($50/hour, $299/day). Members get Media Creation Room hours bundled into several membership tiers.

The launch offer

According to the launch announcement on the hub's LinkedIn, the introductory pricing — 50% off bookings for members, 30% off for non-members — runs through the end of October. The hub's site carries an "Unlock Your Discount Now" call to action alongside the studio page, but the specific percentages and the October 31 end date come from the announcement itself.

Why it matters

Video and audio have become table stakes for startups — investor updates, product demos, launch content and podcast interviews are all content work now. Most early-stage teams can't justify a studio buildout, so a shared, bookable room at the hub where they already work removes the cost and the setup friction. Planet Hatch sits at the centre of Fredericton's startup programming through Ignite, including the MERGE program that matches municipalities with startup pilots — we covered the Oromocto asset-management pilot running through it this summer.
