BlueLedger Leaves Stealth in Fredericton With MaxWave Behind It

The public-markets reconciliation startup debuted at Montreal's ALL IN conference with paid issuer pilots, an undisclosed MaxWave cheque, and UNB's Dhirendra Shukla as chief science officer.

Four securities filings linked by green check nodes to four matching market records, with a readout: out of stealth, reconciled

BlueLedger came out of stealth on Thursday as a Fredericton company: a public-markets reconciliation platform, paid pilots with securities issuers, and an investment from MaxWave Capital whose size was not disclosed. Entrevestor has the launch note. The public debut was at ALL IN 2026 — Canada's largest AI conference — at the Palais des congrès de Montréal on September 16–17.

This is not a consumer ID-check app, even if some write-ups used that shorthand. The product job is matching filings, corporate-action records, security identifiers, and timelines when those records disagree.

What the platform is for

BlueLedger says conflicting public-market records make it hard to verify ownership, establish payment entitlements, and investigate suspected trading irregularities. The software is aimed at issuers, legal counsel, and market-integrity teams. It is supposed to separate findings the records support from questions that stay open.

The first commercial path is paid pilots with issuers. Retail-investor access is later, if the issuer work holds. The company did not name customers, a pilot count, or pricing. Treat those as unknown.

CEO Tiana Stoddart told Entrevestor the team spent years moving between systems and jurisdictions “just to answer basic questions about the same security.” Board chair George Palikaras — former CEO of Nasdaq-listed Meta Materials — said he ran into the same record-conflict problem from inside a public company. Stoddart is moving from Vancouver to New Brunswick to build the firm and is putting her own capital in; she also pointed to the province's Small Business Investor Tax Credit as a reason eligible investors can participate.

The Fredericton bench

The third co-founder is UNB professor Dr. Dhirendra Shukla, listed as chief science officer. Shukla already sits on this beat through Gray Wolf Analytics, the TME-born crypto-forensics company. BlueLedger is a different product — listed-company records, not blockchain wallets — but it is the same provincial pattern: financial-intelligence software built next to UNB rather than next to Bay Street.

MaxWave is led by managing partner Peter J. Balafas. The cheque amount, structure, and close date were not published. MaxWave's other recent Atlantic bet, per Entrevestor, is Dartmouth's Arken Innovations — not an NB company, and not this story.

BlueLedger says it will recruit AI and machine-learning talent in New Brunswick while selling into a global market of listed issuers. That is a plan, not a headcount.

What this is not

It is not a priced round. It is not a named customer win. It is a stealth exit plus a first commercial motion, announced at a national AI conference and written up by the Atlantic startup desk the same day. For a province that usually waits for NBIF or Entrevestor to confirm a company exists, that is enough to put BlueLedger on the map — and not enough to treat MaxWave as a valuation event.
